In Greek Mythology, Angels were always referred to benevolent women with good intentions and always portrayed with Wings. These Angels always came to the people who were in distress. Having Angel tattoos signified the bearer of such tattoos as a believer of good virtues and were associated with trust, helpful and noble personality. Angels always represented the way to possess happiness and freedom and magical powers. Angel Tattoos are renowned for their full black work of Angel Wings. Generally Angel tattoos are portrayed in shoulder caps, Back, Legs and also eyebrows. Angel tattoos are basically characterized by The Wings. The wings were, for variety, derived from many winged creatures both imaginary and real. The imaginary creatures were Dragons, Butterflies, and Eagles etc., which were associated with their own character in life.

Flying was considered as a paramount and most longed freedom. It was originally considered that birds had a superior capacity to fly compared to Human beings. Man always tried to manipulate his body to attract flying characters. People who needed courage to face the ordeals of life felt that having a winged design tattooed on them gave them a feeling of liberty and freedom. Angel wings are very spiritual and symbolic and generally considered to have a meaning or purpose behind them.

For some people it meant a sign for successful traveler. Angel tattoos also characterize the bearer as a loyal friend or a guardian. The Angel tattoos have sometimes a Tribal tattoo base, which show on each feather, a smoky shading around them. Some of the wings are derived from Celtic Tattoos, with Celtic Knots and interlacements. Butterfly Tattoos, Fairy Tattoos also have their wings attached to the Angels, who are associated with beauty and symmetry. When we mention symmetry, it is more appropriate to have the wings on the Lower Back, which can give a more beautiful effect to the Lower Back Tattoos...
